How to Ship from the US to Cameroon with myus.com

So you stumbled upon this blog, eh? Chances are you’re trying to figure out how to ship something to Cameroon. No worries, I’m here to guide you through the process using myus.com (well based my experience).

With myus.com, you get a unique US and UK address. This means you can shop on Amazon and other online stores as if you were a local (it's tax free too). Once you sign up, myus.com assigns you these addresses to use as your shipping addresses for online purchases. This address should be used as shipping address when checkout on the online store.

Recently, I decided to put myus.com to the test. I ordered a Thunderbolt cable and an ANKER wireless charger. It took 2-3 days for them to get the myus.com facility, when the items arrived at the, I received a notification.

Shipping process can be different depending on your plan (single package, premium and business) If you’re on a single-package plan, your items will be forwarded individually as they come in. However, if you opt for the premium pass, myus.com can consolidate your packages into one shipment, saving you money on shipping costs. The premium pass costs an additional $9.99 per month but can be worth it if you frequently ship multiple items.

I wanted to try different shipping services to Cameroon, so I chose Aramex for one item (Cable) and DHL for the charger. While I’m still waiting for the Aramex shipment, the DHL express package arrived quickly and was delivered right to my door. Although DHL express is more expensive, the speed and convenience was worth it.

Now, let’s talk about customs. The main reason I tried two different shipping services was to see if I would need to clear my packages myself. I found that both shipments needed to go through customs clearance. However, since the value of my items was above $50, I didn’t have to visit the customs office personally.

One piece of advice: when dealing with customs agents, try not to disclose the exact value of your items. This can help you avoid unnecessary hassle and potential extra fees.

My thoughts on the whole process!

The cost, I'd it's almost the same as what you go see for Amazon website; plus they say their agents will deal with custom clearance for you but you need to pay that money upfront.

That’s my next plan, so I go keep you updated.
